Murphy said Traill County completed an RFP with partners at MinnKota that positions the county as a viable location for a potential business because of its agricultural base and natural gas availability. He also reported touring the county with an investment group, meeting with a Buxton business owner on a potential project, and meeting Mary Christy (a staff person for Governor Armstrong) and Dave Rustebakke, who is taking over for Jared Hagert as a District 20 representative. Murphy said he has discussed placing Mayville State University students in county organizations through an MSU leadership program.
Murphy further reported initial website scans and plans to use CivicPlus tools to address ADA compliance; board member Jami Hovet asked about bilingual capabilities. These items were recorded under the executive director’s report as operational and partnership activity rather than board actions.
