Board orders updated engineer report after unresolved drainage complaint

Multiple landowners and representatives appeared before the Traill County Water Resource District on April 21 to present a drainage complaint that remains unresolved. Participants at the meeting included complainants Marcia Hoplin, Tim Overmoen, Jon Bakkum, Chad Hanson and their counsel Robin Aanstad, as well as Dan McLaughlin and his attorney David McLaughlin. The board noted the parties had not reached a mutually acceptable resolution during the meeting.
In response, Manager Andy Neset moved and Manager Gary Thompson seconded to direct Moore Engineering to prepare an updated Engineer’s report that includes recommendations for the side slopes of the proposed cleanout. The motion carried unanimously on roll call. The updated report is intended to give the board technical guidance for any future action on the complaint.
