Franklin County approves $439,050 to replace end-of-life tornado sirens in local jurisdictions

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved a non-general fund supplemental appropriation of $439,050 to support local jurisdictions replacing end-of-life outdoor tornado and warning sirens. Jeff Young of Franklin County Emergency Management said the appropriation will primarily support planned replacements in Westerville and Grove City that were not part of the county’s original 2026 budget.
"This non general fund supplemental appropriation in the amount of $439,050 will primarily support our program of working with local jurisdictions to replace the their end of life outdoor or tornado sirens," Jeff Young said. The board adopted resolution 52126 to authorize the funding.
