The Franklin County Board of Commissioners proclaimed August 2026 as Child Support Awareness Month and heard a report from Susan Brown, director of the Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA), on services and program impacts. Brown said the CSEA serves more than 74,000 children across Franklin County and uses mediation, employment supports, and community partnerships to address barriers families face.
Brown also described a contract extension with Linda Norris of Counterpoint Mediation Services for mediation and parenting-time services funded through a federal access and visitation grant. "This contract extension with Linda Norris of Counterpoint Mediation Services has been providing mediation services to child support residents since 2017," Brown said. The board approved resolution 52526 (proclamation) and resolution 52626 (contract extension for $45,000).
