The Franklin County Board of Commissioners on July 28 approved the Franklin County Housing Action Plan 2026–2030, a five-year strategy focusing on expanding affordable housing, preserving existing units, and supporting renter stability. The board voted to adopt the plan after staff described phased implementation steps and existing pilot efforts.
"This is a living, breathing document that we are all working collectively to see to fruition," said Rochelle, chief of economic innovation and development, describing community engagement and the plan’s phased implementation. County administrator Kenneth Wilson said funding limits will shape rollout: "Our only limitation will be the number of dollars that are available," he said, adding staff have been preparing predevelopment and housing opportunity funds for quick action. The board approved resolution 53026 to adopt the plan.
