At the June 22 Board of Trustees meeting, Police Chief Coonce told trustees the department's used black Charger has a failed engine and will be sold rather than repaired. He said the first new patrol car is expected to be on the road within one week and a second should follow in 2–3 weeks. Chief Coonce also said new police trucks are scheduled to be built around the first week of July.
Chief Coonce additionally reported a staffing change: the department currently has an open position after a recent departure. Trustees did not take formal action at the meeting on staffing or vehicle purchases; the updates were provided as operational information to the board.
