Public Works Director J. D. Fadley told the Council crews and contractors repaired multiple water main breaks (including 6" breaks at 145 East Old Cross Road and 57 West Lee Highway and 2" breaks at 212 East Old Cross Road and 133 Stonewall Street), addressed a sewer backup at 9433 Shenandoah Drive, collected 275 bags during grass and leaf collection, and completed PFAS testing and additional SCADA security measures.
Sgt. George Smoot reported the police department logged 524 calls for service in March — 275 daytime and 249 nighttime calls — and said VDOT has been notified about an issue with a main light. Events and marketing staff previewed a busy season, reported that Local Lens videos average about 2,000 views, and said the new LOVE sign cost roughly $10,000 with a planned $1,000 reimbursement from the LOVEworks program.
