Public Works reports sewer backups, water tank progress and in-house cost savings

Fadley said crews collected 237 bags of leaves and grass for reuse and that staff rebuilt a chemical clean pump in-house, "saving approximately $10,000 compared to purchasing a new unit." He also reported failing air valves in the CIP control system and said the department is pursuing a new controller and main computer to improve finished-water flow pacing. On the water tank project, Fadley said footers and the slab were scheduled to be poured within the week, most tank components were already on site, and completion is targeted by the end of the year.
