Town Manager Suzanne Harvey reminded the council that the town had previously agreed to pool its opioid-settlement allocation with Cochise County because the town's individual share is small and the county can administer the funds and meet the program's strict requirements. Harvey said pooling is intended to increase effectiveness and administrative capacity.
"So far between all of our money, 'cause it's not just us, it's other cities too, right? They have $3,000,000 sitting in that account and so you know that's a good amount of money," Harvey said, and added Huachuca City's share to date would be about $28,000. She said the proposed IGA includes an advisory board on which the town could serve to have a voice in how pooled funds will be used. Council approved Resolution 2026-01 unanimously.
