Planning commission reports permits, new business and sidewalk award
Summary
Staff reported multiple permit approvals (fence and signs), a new business (Route 11 Automotive) replacing the former Rt. 11 Equipment building, progress on the water tank project, and that the Rt. 211 sidewalk project was awarded to Ashburn Contracting.
At the May 4 meeting, planning staff reported routine approvals and local projects that could affect downtown and corridor activity.
Mr. Garrison said a zoning permit was approved for a fence at 355 W. Old Cross Road and sign permits were issued for 9373 N. Congress Street, 9800 S. Congress Street and 9386 George Collins Parkway. He also reported that a business named Route 11 Automotive will occupy the former Rt. 11 Equipment building and that the water tank project is progressing. Finally, Mr. Garrison said the Rt. 211 sidewalk project has been awarded to Ashburn Contracting.
The updates were provided as part of the commission's old-business briefing; no formal actions were taken on those items at the May 4 meeting.
