County approves preliminary plat for Franconia Township Hall

The Chisago County Board approved the Preliminary Plat of Franconia Township Hall to split a roughly 27‑acre tract into a 13.14± acre buildable lot and a 13.85± acre outlot, subject to soils verification, access easements and a deed restriction keeping Outlot A undevelopable.
The Chisago County Board of Commissioners on April 15 approved Resolution No. 26/0415-1 to accept the Preliminary Plat of Franconia Township Hall, locating the site at the northwest corner of Pleasant Valley Road (CSAH 26) and Redwing Avenue (CSAH 21).
The Board’s action, moved and seconded during the meeting and adopted unanimously, allows creation of one 13.14± acre buildable lot and one 13.85± acre outlot from the combined approximately 27‑acre tract (PIDs 04.00107.00 and 04.00190.00). The approval is conditioned on seven requirements including county verification of soils for septic suitability when seasonal conditions allow, illustration of controlled access and an access easement for the landlocked Outlot A, and filing a deed restriction with the Chisago County Recorder’s Office that Outlot A remain undevelopable.
County records show the application was submitted by Franconia Township with Cristina Mlejnek of Bolton & Menk listed as the applicant representative. The Planning Commission recommended approval following a public hearing and site review; the Board’s resolution notes the Planning Commission found the plat consistent with county zoning and subdivision ordinances.
The Board’s resolution requires the Final Plat request be submitted within one year unless an extension is granted. The Board recorded the vote as: Swenson, Greene, Dunne, Montzka and Dahlberg in favor; none opposed.
