Floyd County approves drainage payment and grants courthouse grounds use for child-abuse-prevention display

The Board approved payment to Ralph McCartney in the amount of $3,657 for past damages related to Drainage District No. 3 associated with the Open Ditch project; the motion carried 3-0. County staff are to process the payment as a claims item.
The Board also approved the application to use the courthouse grounds in April from the Floyd and Mitchell Counties Child Abuse Prevention Council to display children statues and blue pinwheels bearing child abuse prevention messages. Both administrative items were approved by unanimous vote during the March 24 meeting.
