Ashland EDA Chair Randy Lewis presented the authority’s strategic goals: focusing resources on high-priority areas, revitalizing and redeveloping target sites, building partnerships to foster economic development, and developing revitalization grants for hospitality, restaurant incentives, infrastructure upgrades, outdoor recreation and U.S. 1 enhancements.
Lewis framed these priorities as a targeted approach to spur private investment in downtown Ashland and along key corridors. Staff and EDA members expressed support for coordinated efforts with Hanover County on corridor design and transportation to ensure cohesive development along shared routes such as U.S. 1.
