Nobles County adopts tax abatement for DeKam parcel under Minn. statute

The Nobles County Board of Commissioners voted June 3 to adopt Resolution 202522 approving a property tax abatement for Don and Virginia DeKam for Parcel 10‑0009‑000. The action followed a public hearing in which Bruce Heitkamp, Nobles County Administrator, reviewed the Nobles Home Initiative application that formed the basis for the abatement recommendation.
No members of the public offered comment during the hearing. The Board first voted to open the hearing, received the staff review and closed the hearing before moving to adopt the resolution. The resolution was adopted pursuant to Minnesota Statute 469.1813 and was recorded on the meeting minutes as Resolution 202522. The hearing record shows the motion to open and to close the hearing and to adopt the resolution were made by Commissioners Bob Paplow and Justin Ahlers (mover and seconder as recorded).
