The Huachuca City Council directed staff to study possible annexation of land adjacent to the town limits and scheduled a work session for April 2, 2026. Town Manager Suzanne Harvey asked the Council to consider evaluations of service extension costs, the level of interest among property owners, and the potential benefits to current residents.
"We might schedule a work session so we can really get into it and see what we are looking at," Mayor Johann R. Wallace said as he asked for a follow‑up meeting date. Council agreed to meet on April 2 at 6 p.m. to analyze infrastructure costs and citizen interest. The matter will return to the Council after staff reports on fiscal impacts and resident outreach.
The request asked staff to include an assessment of extending utilities and municipal services to properties along Highway 90 north of town and in the 400 and 500 blocks of Lower Huachuca City. The Council instructed staff to present cost estimates and stakeholder feedback at the work session; no formal annexation action was taken at the March 26 meeting.
