The Huachuca City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 2026-03 on Feb. 26, 2026, amending Town Code Title 18, Chapter 18.100.210 to remove the town-level prohibition on firearms-related home-based businesses.
Mayor Johann Wallace described the adoption as necessary to align the town code with state law. "This is something we have to adjust based on state law," Wallace said during the second reading. The motion to adopt Ordinance 2026-03 was moved by Johann Wallace, seconded by Christy Hirshberg, and passed unanimously.
The ordinance was handled on the council’s consent for a second reading and adoption; the meeting minutes do not list further ordinance details beyond the code section amended. Staff did not present additional regulatory text or operational implementation steps at the meeting; agenda materials or the town clerk’s office would retain the official ordinance language.
