Town Manager Suzanne Harvey explained that the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is federally funded through HUD and requires a process including public hearings to select projects. Council directed staff to begin the process, schedule a council work session and a public hearing, and seek public input as part of project selection.
Manager Harvey told the council: "First Public Hearing to be held on March 21, 2026 at 1pm at the Activity Center. Busses should be made available for residents wishing to attend who needs transportation." The minutes record the direction to staff but do not list specific candidate projects; staff will schedule outreach and return with proposed projects for council consideration.
