The Huachuca City Council authorized repairs on the Town’s Caterpillar D6 dozer in the approximate amount of $47,282.63 at its Jan. 8 meeting. Town Manager Suzanne Harvey introduced the request and Michael Fox explained that issues were found during routine maintenance and that parts have worn over time, necessitating the work to keep the equipment operable.
Councilmember Johann Wallace moved to approve the repair authorization; Christy Hirshberg seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The repair was presented as equipment maintenance to avoid loss of service from a major piece of municipal equipment; no contract vendor name or payment schedule was specified in the minutes.
