The Lafourche Parish Council accepted the low bid of $4,109,905 from Build Commercial Construction LLC for Hurricane Ida repairs to the old parish courthouse and authorized the parish president to sign the agreement. Parish President Mitch Oseron described the work as extensive: windows will be reworked, the HVAC system will be completely replaced (switching chiller pipes to a mini‑split style system), the electrical system will be moved from the basement to the exterior, and exterior landscaping and penthouse/vent improvements are included.
Oseron said the contractor estimated the work could be done in 12 months though the parish placed an 18‑month delivery date in the contract; he added FEMA has been involved and project managers will closely monitor contractor performance. "We will be, watching these guys like a hawk, keeping a big press on them," he said. The council approved the contract award 8–0 with one member absent.
