Wayne County Land Bank Director Kaleigh Flynn told the Finance Committee the Lyons project is nearing completion but fencing will remain in place until site restoration can be finalized when temperatures rise. At the former Rawdens Dairy site, she said tanks have been removed and, pending final analytical results and DEC review, no further remediation is anticipated; an interested buyer has toured the property and may submit a proposal.
Flynn listed additional Land Bank projects — including a junkyard property in Huron and the Savannah fertilizer plant — and thanked the County for its support. She also noted that external auditors are scheduled to conduct an audit of the Land Bank the following day. Flynn characterized the Wayne County Land Bank as among the region’s leading brownfield redevelopment programs.
