Wayne County approves GIS shared-services re-appropriation, reports $7,000 savings for Town of Huron

GIS Manager Zakk Hess thanked supervisors for letters of support and said the endorsements should improve grant-funding prospects. He described recent work with the Town of Huron to meet GIS needs, estimating an approximate cost savings of $7,000 for that town and proposing the approach as a model for other towns.
The committee approved two GIS transmittals 5-0: re-appropriating Local Government Efficiency GIS Shared Services Project funds into the GIS budget and authorizing submission of a Local Government Efficiency Grant application through the GIS Department.
