Wayne County selected as one of seven Wallace Foundation sites; county seeks support as federal grants decline

Grants Coordinator Jay Roscup told the Government Operations Committee that federal grant funding is being reduced and the county is pursuing philanthropic and alternative sources to fill gaps.
Roscup highlighted an event on March 12 with the Children’s Funding Project at Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES and said "the Wallace Foundation selected Wayne County as one of only seven sites nationwide," urging supervisors and department heads to engage as the county seeks to leverage the opportunity for regional workforce and long-term growth. He added that 19 grants were cut nationally and only one has been restored, and asked for the committee’s advocacy at the March event.
