Jamie Hayes, Le Sueur County director of Human Services, presented department updates and two items that the board approved March 17.
The board approved a consolidated Emergency Assistance Programs policy clarifying that the Consolidated Grant Fund (EA) will be used for families with a minor child or a pregnant woman, while Emergency General Assistance (EGA) will be used for adults or married couples without children (motion: Rohlfing moved; King seconded). The board also approved a professional services contract with Presbyterian Family Foundation of Willmar to provide guardianship and conservatorship services for indigent wards from April 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026 (motion: Tietz moved; Preisler seconded).
