City staff told the McKinney Economic Development Corporation on Dec. 16 that multiple airport-related contracts are on the city council agenda, including a construction contract for Taxiway Charlie to connect to the passenger terminal and a roundabout/road connector off FM 546. Staff said ancillary contracts for construction engineering/owner's‑rep services and materials testing will also be considered.
"We're going vertical," the presenter said, noting the erection of the first tilt‑wall for the terminal. Staff characterized the upcoming council agenda as a milestone and said adoption would allow the airport construction phase to proceed.
Board members briefly noted the progress and raised no formal objections. Staff said they will return with additional updates after council action if the council adopts the contracts.
