MCDC opens promotional and project grant cycles and seeks Quality of Life nominations

Cindy Schneible, representing MCDC, briefed the board on upcoming grant opportunities and awards. She said the promotional-grant window is open through Nov. 28 and that the grants carry a maximum award of $15,000 restricted to advertising, marketing and promotion for events or initiatives that showcase McKinney. "These are a maximum award of $15,000 and they are restricted to, the use is restricted to advertising, marketing, and promotion," Schneible said.
Schneible added that the first project-grant cycle (brick-and-mortar, non-retail) opens Dec. 1 and that a retail infrastructure grant cycle will open in January as staff gears up for FY26. She also said nominations for the Quality of Life award (one individual and one organization) are open through Dec. 12 and that the board will select the winners for presentation at the Chamber's February Community Awards celebration.
The board did not take action on these items; staff encouraged potential applicants and nominators to consult the MCDC website for criteria and to submit by the stated deadlines.
