Commission approves withdrawal of roughly seven acres from Woodstock West AFD; resident questions future use

The Planning Commission approved an agricultural and forestal district (AFD) withdrawal request to remove about seven acres from the Woodstock West District on property at Mauser Lane (Tax Map No. 033 A 024).
Associate Planner McKenzie Allen reported the AFD Committee had unanimously recommended approval at its January 12, 2026 meeting and that the applicant plans to divide the seven-acre parcel for sale. Resident Cheryl Funk asked whether the withdrawal would allow houses to be built on the land; Allen explained that county code permits two primary dwellings per parcel and allows one division every three years, and that this withdrawal would constitute a single seven-acre parcel.
Commissioner Tommy Miller moved to approve the withdrawal and the motion passed on roll call. The Commission’s action will move forward per established AFD procedures.
