At the May 19 special meeting (reported May 21), Salem Township opened and awarded procurement bids for materials and fuels.
The board accepted Pleasant Unity Supply's bid for roughly 6,100 linear feet of double wall plastic pipe across various diameters; the minutes record unit prices by diameter. Regarding vendor choice, the board noted prior use of LB Water Services but praised Pleasant Unity's quicker delivery: as Bob Zundel said, "If we call Pleasant Unity one day the pipe will be here the next." The pipe bid motion passed unanimously.
For fuel the board approved a bid from Export Fuel for approximately 12,000 gallons of diesel at $2.2890 per gallon delivered (plus margin) and about 5,000 gallons of 87-octane gasoline at $2.2712 per gallon delivered (plus margin). The motion for the fuel contract passed unanimously, with bid terms and additive/margin language recorded in the minutes.
