The council approved up to $4,000 to purchase and install playground bark at Huntsville Park to improve surface safety around play equipment. Mayor Richard L. Sorensen moved the measure and Councilmember Bruce Ahlstrom seconded; the motion passed by roll call.
Separately, staff (Blaine) described a failed septic drainfield where corrugated plastic covering had collapsed under heavy truck traffic; the council approved up to $10,000 to replace piping and rebuild the drainfield to better withstand vehicle loading. Both motions were recorded as passing 3–0 in the minutes.
