Council approves Sage Subdivision amendment to allow two utility laterals for combined lots
Summary
The Huntsville Town Council amended the Sage development agreement to allow two culinary water and two sewer laterals for the combined Lots 4 and 5 after staff and the town engineer recommended approval in light of lot layout and ownership.
Taylor Alvarez of Cole West explained that homeowners who now own the adjoining Sage Subdivision Lots 4 and 5 requested that the existing development agreement be amended to allow two culinary water and two sewer laterals because two buildings on the combined property require separate laterals. Town staff and the town engineer reviewed the request and recommended approval. Council voted to approve the amendment by roll call vote (3-0).
The town engineer2s letter included in the packet noted that while some entities restrict multiple laterals on a single lot, other jurisdictions allow two lateral connections when site layout and ownership require them; the engineer wrote, "I would recommend the change asked by the lot owner to be approved." The council recorded the change to the DA and will update municipal records accordingly.
