The board approved the Sheriff's Office partnering with Sourcewell on a temporary summer internship that would reimburse the county $15 per hour for up to 640 hours through Sept. 18, 2026.
Sergeant Bryan Savaloja told the board the Sheriff's Office applied for and was awarded the internship through Sourcewell. The board voted to enter an agreement with Sourcewell and authorized posting for the position (motion by Commissioner Murlyn Kreklau, seconded by Commissioner Ron Noon). The motion carried unanimously.
The internship provides temporary staff capacity for the Sheriff's Office and will be reimbursed according to the Sourcewell terms presented to the board.
