County Administrator Colleen Winter and Planning & Zoning/Building Services Administrator Deana Malone asked the board to approve a Sourcewell Community Benefit grant application to fund park enhancements totaling $30,000.
The proposed expenditures include updates to the picnic pavilion at Stigman's Mound Park, trees and landscaping and signage at Tree Farm Landing, and landscaping and signage at Old Wadena Park Campground. Auditor/Treasurer Heather Olson presented the budget calendar and confirmed the first budget work session is scheduled for June 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
Commissioner Bryan Winkels moved to approve Resolution 2026-17 and the $30,000 application; Commissioner Jon Kangas seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. If awarded, Sourcewell Community Benefit funding would support the specified park improvements.
