Huntsville Town Council on April 16 approved a stage rental request from local musician Zayah Castillo for a May 30 summer kickoff concert at Huntsville Park, adding a $250 refundable cleaning deposit and conditions that the event remain family friendly and end by 10:00 p.m. The motion was made by Council Member Bruce Ahlstrom, seconded by Council Member Lewis Johnson and passed by the members present.
Castillo told the council his band and a few other local bands planned to play and that he was "considering inviting food trucks." Council members emphasized park rules on noise, end times and cleanup; the town27s stage and bowery policies prohibit alcohol and loud music unless expressly approved by the council. The council's approval requires the organizer to remove trash and adhere to the pavilion and stage policies noted on the town reservation form.
