Board members used reports to summarize recent staffing and outreach activity among soil and water conservation districts. Andy Kronebusch reported that Wanda Anderson, the Winona SWCD district manager, has stepped down and that hiring efforts for a new district manager are underway. Kronebusch also described a farm safety day the SWCD held that was recorded to encourage other SWCDs to host safety days as an outreach tool for youth and parents.
Lynn Zabel said Wabasha SWCD recently lost a technician and has hired a new employee described as conservation‑minded though with minimal experience. James Rentz added that the last several months have been quiet with only a few cost‑share projects in progress.
