Police chief presents year-end 2024 report, lists 3,164 calls and 65 arrests

Chief Tienken presented the Winhall Police Department's year-end 2024 report and summarized December activity for the Selectboard. He said the department handled 3,164 total calls in 2024, with 65 arrests, 1,702 traffic stops and 493 tickets issued. The report also listed 104 medical calls and 171 off-road or motor vehicle crashes.
"He submitted a year-end 2024 report which included total calls (3 164), total arrests (65), total traffic stops (1702), total tickets issued (493), total medical calls (1 04), and motor vehicle crashJtoarS Off road (171)," the minutes record. Tienken also reported there were 18 active Knox boxes and more than 30 pending.
The chief told the board the department's recently hired officer completed training and would be assigned to duties including firehouse coverage and patrols. The Selectboard did not take further action beyond receiving the report.
