Director reports rise in library visits, expands programming and space plans

At the director's report the Director said library materials checkouts were up from this time last year and that visitor counts have risen. "Our materials checked out are a good jump up from last this time last year," the Director said, and added that marketing efforts appear to be bringing more people into the building.
The Director outlined programming growth: at least one program nearly every day, partnerships with AARP, Mathnasium and a local dance school, and limitations due to meeting-room conflicts and staff capacity. To expand space the Director said the library will convert reference space into glassed study rooms that can double as programming space.
The Director also noted ongoing community events such as a monthly Red Cross blood drive and that staff aim to coordinate with community partners to provide services the library cannot staff alone.
