Clatsop County grant will update buildable‑lands inventory to help Astoria housing planning

Estes told Astoria officials that DLCD provides technical assistance and grant dollars to local jurisdictions and highlighted a current grant to Clatsop County to update countywide buildable lands inventories. "One grant in which the City Of Astoria is benefiting from is a grant which was provided to Clatsop County, which is updating buildable lands inventories for all jurisdiction... and it's going to assist the City Of Astoria in moving forward on some of its housing planning," he said.
He described DLCD staff as a resource: regional representatives and specialist teams can provide procedural and technical support on topics such as housing and economic development, and the department is available to answer follow‑up questions or participate in hearings when drafts are provided for acknowledgment review.
