Interim County Administrator Mike Sepic asked the committee for direction on invoices submitted by DCS, the vendor working on countywide broadband infrastructure. The minutes state the county—s prior contract with DCS expired at the end of 2025 and that DCS has continued providing services since then.
Commissioner Teri Freehling said it "does make sense to pause the contract until they are needed again which will be when the BEAD funding comes in." Commissioner Jon Hinkelman recommended that, if paying those invoices would be an unbudgeted expense, the entire Board of Commissioners should be notified and allowed to weigh in; he said he would raise the issue at the next full BOC meeting. The committee did not approve payment during the meeting.
