Board approves reception plans and programming ideas for May 16 250th event

The board continued planning an America’s 250th celebration scheduled May 16, 2026. Chair Bob Wren said he had “contacted PBS about showing a film/documentary.” Rose Nyman recommended expanding the music concert at St. Mark’s and reported she is contacting an organist, a singer and a fiddler for period music.
The board discussed refreshments and cake options; Wren reported full-sheet and half-sheet cake pricing ($70 full, $48 half). Tammy Mattson moved to order a full sheet cake and decorate the fellowship hall reception table with cloth and balloons; the motion passed 5-0.
Members will continue coordination with St. Mark’s and musician recruitment ahead of the May program.
