Board advances installation details for Phoebe Hearst bronze

The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Historic Resources Board discussed final details for the Phoebe Hearst bronze sculpture during its March 5 meeting. Rose Nyman reported she contacted the artist and learned that “his name, factory stamp, and the year will be visible on the statue itself near where she is holding the book.”
Nyman said the foundry asked about handling the sculpture as it showed progress on the project; she will follow up on coordinating the granite base and foundry for installation. She also noted that Sam from the library had been referenced in the February minutes about a potential special meeting but that no board members had been informed of any such meeting.
Board members did not vote on the installation details at this meeting; Nyman's follow-up conversations with the artist and the foundry will determine next steps and timing.
