The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Commission approved multiple administrative items March 3, including two grant-related actions and permissions for special events and concessions.
The commission authorized staff to apply for and administer a Montana Historic Preservation Grant through the Montana Department of Commerce (motion carried 4-0). Tri-County Sanitarian Chad Lanes explained the annual Motor Vehicle Graveyard grant paperwork; the commission approved submission so the CEO may sign and DEQ can process payment. Commissioners authorized advertising for bids for the Yeoman Softball Complex concessions contract; County Attorney Morgan Smith clarified the awarded bidder may not sublet and the contract is executed by the CEO. The commission also adopted Resolution No. 26-08 authorizing the CEO to execute special-event permits for Easter Egg hunts and approved special-events permits for the Anaconda Hurricanes (April–September) and the Dead Ringer Horseshoe Club qualifier (May 30) pending certificates of insurance.
