The Salem Township Board of Supervisors accepted a Planning Commission resignation and moved to fill and reaffirm several board and commission roles during the Jan. 5 organizational meeting.
The board accepted the resignation of Planning Commission member John Durco and appointed John Wright to the commission. It reaffirmed the appointments of Connie Mattei and Paul Holleran and appointed five members and two alternates to the UCC Appeals Board (Keith Walters, Robert Rosetti, Timothy Jobe, Jim Fontana, Brian Crystaloski; alternates Keith Brinker and Douglas Regola). The board also appointed volunteer members to the Recreation Board (Ashley Dobies, Kathy Hamilton, Gerry Sacco, Lynn Jobe, Tim D'Aurora, Mark Steeves, Tim Kozinko).
During discussion, former Planning Commission chair Jack Dunaway praised past leaders and current chair Connie Mattei; some residents raised concerns about workload and suggested possible compensation or procedural changes. Connie said procedural changes already in progress should reduce review time and commended Planning Commission secretary Kelly Otto for substantial assistance.
