Commissioners reported ongoing coordination with the Lyndon Downtown Revitalization Committee (LDRC) and the town’s MPG consultant, Heather Carrington, on downtown revitalization plans. Staff and the consultant are working on a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) the town aims to complete by February 2026, a prerequisite for the Center Step 3 designation.
The commission discussed the benefits and administrative implications of Step 3 designation, noting that Step 3 "would allow sales tax revenues from construction projects to be funneled back to the project." Members flagged a forthcoming Select Board discussion (Oct. 20) about whether the town should pursue Tier 1A or 1B status, which would change certain Act 250 review responsibilities.
