Township solicitor: 400 gallons per day (three‑bedroom) equals 1 EDU; planning module depends on new EDU status

Resident Eric Hageder asked how the township determines Equivalent Dwelling Units (EDUs) and whether the same standard applies to mobile homes. Solicitor Gary Falatovich responded that "it would be 400 gallons per day for three bedrooms, which would be 1 EDU," and said a planning module requirement depends on whether a new EDU is being created and whether an on‑lot system has previously existed on the property.
Solicitor Falatovich also clarified the role of FTMSA and the township’s tap allocation process: FTMSA certifies available sewage capacity rather than the physical availability of a tap, and the township submits annual tap allocation requests to DEP as part of its process for allocating new EDUs. Resident Hageder requested a copy of a July 16, 2025 transcript concerning sewage issues on Athena Drive; the request was recorded in the meeting.
