"We did... take down the tab that was labeled DEI," he said, and described CommunitySpoke as a program within the Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance and a convening body for health and human service partners. Several commissioners praised Corey's outreach; others asked for written examples of any advocacy letters or positions and asked for clearer public documentation of the group's advocacy policy.
Following discussion about advocacy, county oversight and whether to continue funding matured nonprofits, the board took a roll‑call vote to approve contract 2828. The motion passed with most commissioners voting 'Yes' and at least two recorded 'No' votes on the prior separate pull motion. Commissioners asked for continued reporting to the board and said the contract would also be part of future strategic planning discussions about funding levels for nonprofit partners.
