The Stevenson City Council on Feb. 19 adopted Resolution No. 2026-648 formally acknowledging the resignation of Councilmember Pat Rice and declaring a vacancy in Position No. 4 effective Feb. 28, 2026. City Attorney Robert Muth told the council Rice may withdraw the resignation up until that effective date.
The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Councilmember Dave Cox and seconded by Councilmember Lucy Lauser; the roll-call vote recorded Councilmembers Van Pelt, Lauser, Minnis, Rice and Cox voting aye. The action establishes the process for filling the vacancy under state law and places next steps under the City Attorney's guidance.
