The sheriff highlighted specific rescue operations and praised collaborative action: "They had a county plow, an ambulance, and a county truck behind, and then also Limestone Garage brought their, head loader? Yep. Loader to bust through a drift," (S8) describing how crews escorted patients through blocked roads. He also said he planned to pursue recognition: "...I'm gonna do accommodation awards for our county road commission, everybody that was involved in any of those transports and our EMS staff," and commissioners agreed the work merited formal commendation.
The emergency manager explained the county looked into an emergency declaration and confirmed the county was "in line" for state forgiveness of lost school days and other assistance where eligible. Commissioners discussed contractor and staffing strain during the storm and thanked both paid and volunteer crews for their efforts.
