Board reviews handbook draft, asks for formalized annual calendar

The board reviewed a draft handbook May 8 as a framework for board operations and public reference. Wickersham asked the district for a more formalized process to produce an annual meeting calendar to help the board stay on budget and timeline items; Superintendent Ingrid Colvard and Recording Secretary Laura Fishburn will collaborate on the calendar.
Members asked that the handbook include a portrait of a graduate and a table of contents; Wickersham said he will share the draft on OneDrive so all members can edit. Mark Chambers said he would send Colvard the list of policies referenced in the handbook so she can check if updates are needed. Colvard also updated the board on an open board position; after Friday ESD 112 will advertise the vacancy, and the board discussed whether to broaden the applicant pool subject to the elections office process. Members confirmed attendance plans for promotion and graduation and agreed Colvard will attend the July 24 meeting virtually.
