Pratt Area Humane Society asks Pratt County to continue $1,250 monthly support

Lisa Hopkin, treasurer for the Pratt Area Humane Society, addressed the commission during public comment to thank the county for prior funding and to request continued monthly support of $1,250.
"Your partnership's essential to maintaining these services and ensuring we can continue serving Pratt County responsibly," Hopkin said, noting the shelter was inspected recently and that the new director, Maria Rios, has been in place for a short time and is performing well. Hopkin said the shelter remains almost full and offered to provide a formal written request for the county budget process.
Commissioners asked whether the requested amount should be put into the budget and staff said they were preparing budget materials; Hopkin said she could provide a formal request to be considered during the county's budget deliberations.
