County awards electronics recycling contract, approves transfer-station study and equipment purchase

Carlton County awarded its electronics recycling contract to TRC (The Retrofit Companies), approved a $46,000 Transfer Station planning/feasibility task order with Burns & McDonnell and authorized purchase of a plow truck with plow and salter estimated at $60,000 for Transfer Station operations. The Board adopted resolution 26-047 awarding the collection of electronics recyclable materials from the Carlton County Transfer Station to TRC, The Retrofit Companies; bid amounts are on file in the Zoning Office. The contract term was set for Sept. 1, 2026, through Aug. 31, 2027, with up to three optional one-year renewals at the same rate, and the Chair, Auditor/Treasurer, Zoning Administrator and County Attorney were authorized to execute bonds and contracts.
Separately, the Board approved a Transfer Station Planning and Feasibility Study task order (task two) with Burns & McDonnell for $46,000, and approved purchase of a plow truck including plow and salter for Transfer Station use at an estimated $60,000. Those expenditures were carried by unanimous vote as part of the county’s solid-waste and transfer-station operations planning.
