County to apply for preservation grant to repair Jim Wright House windows

A preservation representative told the court that Komatsu Architecture is preparing the grant proposal pro bono and has a strong track record of successful applications. The representative said the requested $50,000 would be targeted specifically for window work; if awarded, staff could later apply for additional grants for exterior work. Commissioners approved seeking the preliminary application and noted that an RFQ for architecture and engineering services will be required if the county proceeds with the project and receives funding.
Court action authorized the preliminary application; staff will return with detailed application materials and scope if the Trust expresses interest.
